Brass and broads
I was listening to "Whitesnake" last night, and got to wondering how DC's music through the years would sound with a bigger band, featuring brass and female backing vocals. Songs like "Lady" were build with brass in mind, and it, "Blindman" and "Celebration" among others feature female voices. When you move into more recent DC work, I was having visions of "Sailing Ships" done in the starkers style with backing vocals, before a big brass kick into the climax of the song as featured on SOTT. Also, "Burn" with brass overlaid on the guitar riff would smoke.
How's this for a set list for the DC "Brass and Broads" tour:
Burn - Lady - Give Me Kindness - Long Way From Home - Blindman - Ain't Gonna Cry No More - Here I Go Again - Dancing Girls - Guilty Of Love - Is This Love - Sailing Ships - enc: All In The Name Of Love - Love Is Blind - Wherever You May Go
(I'm back into studying and meant to be writing an essay - can you tell?)
