Colin "Bomber" Hodgekinson in Whitesnake
Does anybody know whether there are any gigs which Colin played with Whitesnake? Have anybody seen him live with DC?

He played on the Saints An' Sinners tour (though didn't appear on the album). Was dumped before the Slide It In tour kicked off.
Yes, I saw him live twice with Whitesnake. I was a bit underwhelmed to tell you the truth. Coverdale had praised him excessively in pre-tour interviews. In reality he was fairly average in Whitesnake, although his solo spot showed a bit more of what he could do. No match for Neil Murray IMO, but Whitesnake may have been completely the wrong vehicle for him.

He appears on the Donnington '83 video and I've seen him twice too (S&S and Monsters Of Rock).
I agree with BigJ.

If I recall right, he must be on the Slide It In album, as well.
In 1982, he must have had a vocal spot during his bass solo.
He´s an awesome bassist and the only one who can make a 5 minute bass solo(as well as only bass and singing!) exciting for me!

Yes,just looked on the backside in the vinyl-sleeve and it says he does.
Wierd, the report I have said something like "but before he even had his vinyl-debut he was already out of the band".
On the S&S tour he played an arrangement track with Micky and did the vocals for it,I remember that. The Ludwigshafen gig which could be heard on the radio had it too.

Saw Bomber at the Dome in Morecombe back in september, backing Zoot Money, Ray Dorsett and Long John Baldry at the 'legends of rhthmn and blues' festival. (a great night)
The music suited his style much better, great blues bassist IMHO.

I was thinking off going to that show in Durham, but didn't in the end! Bummer!

Re: Colin "Bomber" Hodgekinson in Whitesnake
I remember him doing plenty of photo session's with WS.
In some of the photo's I remember seeing the single worst dressed Purple member ever, his name is David Cocerdale.
Of course the outfit I speak of is the one where David was wearing FRIGGEN LEG WARMER'S.
Gay as all get out.
If that's not daft enough, they were pink of all color's.
This is a rare moment for me,I usually don't care what men wear, but when it comes to women's acceceries, this is where
I draw the line.

Re: Colin "Bomber" Hodgekinson in Whitesnake
I saw (and recorded) Hodgkinson with the Snakes at the three night extravaganza in Newcastle in December '82 - he was no Neil Murray .

I would admit that Colin was not comfortable playing Blues/Rock. However, I can assure you that if Neil tried to play Colin's normal style of Jazz/Rock he would be 'No Colin Hodgekinson'
