Should be there and good to hear that Uncle Bob will be doing his acoustic set.
Classic 'Snake and classic Magnum plus any of Bob's solo stuff which is certainly worth a listen.

Bob's solo stuff is awesome, most of it ranking higher than Magnum's material for me, well worth a listen for anyone into that sound.

You're not wrong there Christos, I first saw Magnum supporting The Snakes in about 1979 and have been a fan ever since. His latest "When Empires Burn" is tremendous and composer/keyboard player Paul Hodson is apparently planning to cover "Light in the Black" on his next album.
Should be good.

His first album was good but still not as good as Magnum at their best. The second album was ok but patchy. The third album was mostly poor. I didn't bother with the fourth album
He needs Tony Clarkin.

Ok.
Looks like its only me the mrs and happy hammond going to this gig from the board.
The venue is all standing so we should be able to meet.
HH how will we know who you are?
Mind you, if we are the only three going, this will not be a problem!

Re: Ok so who will be in Wolverhampton on the 20th?
Well, I'm not doubting Clarkin's talents (a tremendous songwriter if I've ever heard one!) but ALL of Catley's solo albums are way better than the last Magnum one so... Actually, I haven't got round to getting Bob's latest either (will make amends during my Christmas shopping) but from a couple of tracks I've heard it seems the standards have not been lowered.

Re: Ok so who will be in Wolverhampton on the 20th?
Magnum are in the studio at present, writing new material.Tony Clarkin is probably one of rock's finest songwriters. Very underated.
If anything, Bob's solo stuff has suffered from underfunding and production quality has been a little below par, but there's no doubting the power of little Bob's lungs.
I met him at The Limleight Club in Crewe on his last solo tour and what an extremely nice chap he is, if quite tiny.

I'm going with an old mate of mine - another guy has dropped out now Manfred Mann isn't performing.Should we wear Purple carnations? I'm quite old with no where near as much hair as I had when I first saw the 'Snakes but I'll probably be at the bar...
