The mix of the American version (GEF4018) is different, but I haven't been listening to both versions a long time to tell which one is better...

If you like 1987 more than, say, Lovehunter then you like more Geffen version of Slide it in.

It's like a bridge between old and new Snake.

So it is a big change in styles between the two versions of Slide It In, then?

Well the songs are same so it's not a big change. But Sykes sounds lot different than Moody!

I've not heard all of the Sykes version, just the odd track here and there, but his input didn't seem to be that big? The one track I do recall is Slow An' Easy and he just adds an occasional squeal, doesn't he?

I've never heard the American version, either. Is it different enough to be worth buying or it is for completists and Sykes fans only?

I have them both on vinyl, was a 'snake fan at the time, but was very dissapointed that I really couldn't tell much difference from the original(Europe) to the import(US). Today I wouldn't bother to buy the other, no matter which one I had.

Hmmm, I got Slide It In in one of those mini boxsets called The Originals. EMI used to put them out and they had three CDs in replicated paper sleeves like the original vinyl albums (also included 1987 and SOTT). There was also a running of the first three Purple albums in similar packaging. The question is, do I have the European or the US version of Slide It In?!

Can you not tell by the running order? The euro version starts with Gambler, whereas I think it's the 5th track on the US version.

Re: Slide It In

This thread has certainly got me curious, for the UK people here's a cheapish version of the US mix.
