Do Purple Need A Druid?

Isn't it time Deep Purple got a real rock and roll figure in on guitar? I mean Morsey's done the business but he somehow doesn't look right.....too blond, too little and too fecking fresh faced.

They need an out and out hairy monster.....but who, I ask you?

Morse could get a wig, like the one Blackmore wears. That would do the business. emoticon - emoticon - emoticon

As a long lasting customer, he might get a "Deep Purple discount" emoticon

This time Mr jond, I think you really are beginning to lose it! emoticon

Do Purple Need A Druid?

Some arguments for and against.......

a) Druids tend to wear white, rather than the more traditional rock n roll BLACK

b) They tend to play harps, rather than the more tradtional rock n roll GUITAR

c) OK, I'll give you "out and out hairy monster"

d) But who, I ask you?

Chuckle....sorry you've taken such offence Posh, but I take my interpretation of the term 'druid' to be a sorcerer -

See here -

And there looks to be a striking resemblence to a certain hat worn by a certain guitarist whose name just escapes me at the minute.

Insofar as your reference to my disadvantaging Morse is concerned - well, be assured that my outpouring was relatively mild compared to some of the stick he was taking on the old Highway Star Forum. But that was a few years ago.....before your time, luv? emoticon

a) offence?
None taken.
In my experience, they do tend to wear white and play harps! emoticon

b) Sorcerers and their hats?
Looks more like the Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter films. Perhaps that's where it made its debut?

"This week I think we'll have this singer in the band, or how about that one....."

c) mild Morse bashing
Can take it, and give it back.

d) old HS forum?
You'd be suprised...!!

e) before my time?
Again, you'd be suprised......!!

The negative stuff tends to be more noticed because with the right attention it´s obvious that the Morse fans and people are at least satisfied with him are a majority ! ofcourse that you notice more his bashing, because it´s more emotional, sometimes rude and ... well noticable ! there´s no need in saying "oh morse is great, i love morse, MK Morse rules" all the time , because people just listen to it and know they enjoy it !! Anyway, i think Morse , considering he had to "replace" Blackmore , has a extremely positive career on Deep Purple (extreme bashing was what happened with Blaze Bailey in Iron Maiden ... he just had to be kicked out )

Rock On emoticon

That Blackmore was a hard act to follow is well documented, particularly where Tommy Bolin was concerned.

People like Blackmore always had an army of fans that would accept no other to the point of savagery. But fans like that IMO aren't the sort stars want because they are in effect using a persona as a vehicle for their own inadquacies.

Ultimately it is weakness that stimulates this negative kind of adulation.
