Well, that's a clear sign that Morse's input in Deep Purple is minimal...
That's not a clear sign of anythng apart from the fact that Steve will be on tour between 23rd March and 9th April.
Check the Purpendicular & Abandon books and you'll see that it wasn't that during the sessions all of them were present at the studio.
I am sure that Steve will be back in the studio with many exciting ideas...
BTW - will we have the new album before the end of this year???

Morse comes up with some nice bits and pieces from time to time. I wish he could transfer some of his solo tunes to DP before they made it onto his albums. When it goes about recording with Dp he doesn't seem as prolific as he is while recording with SMB or the Dregs, that's my HO :]

They should put it on a hold, as somebody has already suggested, and release it in 2008 as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations... they should be ready by then. God, and I used to like them so very much. Why are they doing it to me? Let's be honest - there's a big chance that the next album is going to be Purple's last...

Well, the simply do not progress and in fact share the fate of many great bands which in the last ten years or so stopped progressing. Actually, they were to me the last band to believe in after Purpendicular. They din't only base on their past, it has changed drastically in the last years and I simply can't see the old Purps I used to respect that much for their rare quality and creativity. What's left is the craft, good, not extraordinary, satysfying the poor.

I think Gillan has too much say in the music of DP. His lack-luster effort in )))’s really slows the tempo down, that’s evident in the live performances also. The spark that Ritchie added and the control over Gillan is what made DP. Their stuff now is a mix of DP and the Gillan band. We can only hope that Bradford can rein him in and produce a DP album this time and Steve…….how about a rock riff to remember. Your in a rock band no more twidly..twiddling!

I kind of agree, but I kinda don't. I think they did porgress with Purpendicular, but REGRESSED with the following albums. Cascades, Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming, Rosa's Cantina, Richie would have never played that stuff. Imho, of course.
