Gillans obsession with Blackmore

I have been back to listening to the Fruitloops CD lately. And although I still maintain that's it's a pretty good CD in spite of the widdle-factor, I have noticed that Gillan is still making remarks to Blackmore.
"When the shine comes off he's up to something new"
"Strangest people have to power..to lead me to my darkest hour"
There are many more made in Walk On and Haunted. Has he not gotten over it?
Will then next album be called "Fairies Wear Boots" and ya gotta believe yeah!?

Some crushed laxative pills,
after your trip Durch Den Wald Zum Bach Haus you'll find yourself Beyond The Sunset.

I think RS has got a point. There are a lot of IG's lyrics which could be seen as references to RB. Think about HOBL: Bad Attitude and Spanish Archer. TBRO: the title track, Solitaire. Purpendicular: Ted the Mechanic, Soon Forgotten...

Of course, these only can be seen as references. Has IG even said that Smooth Dancer is about RB?

I Agree Rezi, but aren't there a lot more lyrics which can be referred to Blackmore?
I always get this feeling when I hear songs like "I'm not your lover now" (although it's been said that it's about a ex-girlfriend of Roger)
And phrases like "How can I ever miss you, you never go away." Ritchie will always be in Gillan's head, or the heads of the fans at least anyway!
"Loosen My Strings" is an obvious title I guess.

I think a whole lot of Purpendicular is about Ritchie and a lot of lyrics are written with Ritchie in mind I guess..

Yes, Gillan has flat out said that Smooth Dancer is about Blackmore. He even said that he was infuriated when Blackmore was completely oblivious that the lyrics were about him.

As for all the other references mentioned, save "banjo player took a hike" from Ted, I personally don't think they are about Blackmore at all, but that's my speculation .

BTW I think Ritchie has a little IG obsession too. Once he said that when he was in mark III he couldn't stand Glenn Hughes anymore because he "he had put on Gillan's face".
