Doogie news
"There is a strong possibility of the boys in Mostly Autumn joining forces with Dougie White (Ex Rainbow frontman who recorded the last Rainbow album the Stranger In Us All ) It would be a side project and if it firms up they will be performing as the opening act on the UK Heep tour at the end of October/beginning of November ...it's an out and out rock set mainly drawn from stranger In Us all plus a few surprises could be alot of fun ...You read it here first !!...any thoughts out there ???
Cheers
Bob" [Carruthers, Classic Rock Productions]

Re: Doogie news
Wibble - more money required!! Excellent news. Are Manfred Mann still the main support, with Doogie/MA as the third band?

Re: Doogie news
From the Mostly Autumn web site :-
Due to unforeseen circumstances
Manfred Mann will not be appearing on tour with Uriah Heep.
The replacement support band is White Noise the new project fronted by former Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow front man Dougie White and featuring Bryan Josh on Guitar.
Keeping up the Rainbow connection the White Noise project features members of Mostly Autumn including Ian Jennings , Liam Davison and of course Blackmore protégé Josh.
Since first being offered the support slot with Blackmore’s Night Bryan has toured extensively and jammed on stage with Blackmore watching and learning from the master.
The White Noise project performs a white hot selection of Purple and Rainbow classics from Dougie’s tenure with Rainbow which saw the creation of the brilliant Stranger In Us All album. With musicianship of this calibre the band are also more than capable of performing classics such as Tarot Woman which has never been performed live .
So you can expect a dynamite selection of purple and Rainbow classics with a few surprises for good measure …..

Re: Doogie news
Don't know, but everything seems to be going towards three/four act bills these days (not actually a good thing, in my opinion).

Re: Doogie news
Now there's the chance for everyone here to get behind a man with a future, namely Mr Doogie White. We should all attend these gigs and go tell him he was worth seeing. On the upside Doogie will be on before Uriah Heep so you can easily slip out after he's done, or equally if you're so minded you could stay and watch the Heep in action. I saw them in the early 70's they must be pensioners by now!
I wouldn't pay a penny to see Heep but if Doogie White is out the bill then it'll be worth the money for sure.

He'll surely be a bigger draw than Manfred Mann anyway!!
