Ian Gillan is in a space all on his own. There is no one like him. Who else could have survived Blackmore not just once, not just twice, but three times and kept on going! emoticon The best story teller of the lot with an amazing catalog of material. The ultimate hard rock singer.

i had said in an earlier post if pushed i would have to say GILLAN for exactly the reasons 7th heaven gives above.
sorry if you feel i am 'long winded',but i do feel all have made valid contributions to the enduring appeal of dp,yes even turner!
iv'e listened avidly to dp and the offshoots since '74,so i feel i do have a valid opinion.
the best voice of them all at this current time has to be hughes,as i said earlier he is in some of the best musical/vocal form of his life

Hard13Heavy,

GOOD POINT, I think Glenn is the only one that still has an AMAZING VOICE these days.

Faz200 -

Damn Right!

If there is STILL one that definitely has THE AMAZING VOICE (also been there FOR MORE THAN 35 YEARS and exposed to non-stop touring, drugs....ups and downs of wild rock life - EXCUSE USED FOR SOME!!!) then it is one and only - once in a life time comer - Glenn Hughes! Enuff said! No one beats that guy!

when I was a kid I argued to death over how great these guys are, Now as I am older and I see what Franz meant in the 1800's when he said "The World Loves Trash" that may answer why they are not house hold names

You´re quoting yourself with something you have said over 20 years ago? That´s some cool thing I´ve never seen before! emoticon
