Graham Bonnet's "Line Up" album
Has anyone heard this album? I would be interested in hearing any comments you might have. It surely has some impressive players making guest spots.
This album somehow flew under the radar for me. I'd never even heard of it untill I saw this info about the album being newly available on the DPAS site:
"New in is the first CD reissue of GRAHAM BONNET - LINEUP, the Rainbow singers 1981 album with Jon Lord, Micky Moody and Cozy Powell guesting amongst others.
All comments welcome!

Re: Graham Bonnet's "Line Up" album
I bought this album when it was released all those years ago but can't remember much about it really.
It was a necessary acquisition at the time (because of the line up) and I'd be interested in hearing it again...but I don't have it any more .

I also bought it just after release. It's been so long since I've heard it. The guest players were just that. Just to get interest in the lp. JL,MM or CP don't really shine or push the lp. It's a good pop album. Just what you would expect to hear from a singer where the emphasis is on the vocal and any studio musicians could have played the background. The only tune that has ever stuck in my mind from it is Night Games, which is the highlight.
His work with Alcatrazz was much heavier.
Line Up is enjoyable, but nothing to write home about.

Re: Graham Bonnet's "Line Up" album
Thanks for the info guy's, I think I'll hold off on buying this for a while.
I love Assualt Attack. I would rank Bonnet albums as follows:
1.Assualt Attack
2.Down to Earth
3.Disturbing the Peace
4.No Parole for Rock n Roll
#1 and #2 are sometime interchangeable depending on my mood.
The worst I ever heard from Bonnet was one called Forcefeild-Return to Oz. I saw it in a shop, and it had Cozy and Jan Ackerman playing on it, so I had to have it. What a dissapointment.

I have all the Forcefield albums and the two with Graham are the worst of the batch. (The other one is called Let The Wild Run Free.)
Both have some ok songs, but someone made the not-so-brilliant move to add horns to a number of the tracks. Ugh!
To get slightly off-track, the second Forcefield album features Tony Martin. It was the first time I ever heard Tony and I instantly became of fan and started searching out the Sabbath stuff.
As for my Graham compilation, I'd want Jet To Jet on there. I like Lost In Hollywood, too, but more for Blackmore's playing than Graham's singing.

Re: Graham Bonnet's "Line Up" album
A compilation would be most welcome! I might add the tracks "Rock you to the ground" and "Mercy", problem is I dont know what I would remove from Roy's original list to make room.
Its a shame he doesn't get back with Vai or Malmsteen and make another Alcatrazz album.
Jake67, now that you mention them, I remember cringing at the horns. I second your Ugh and will even add an "F" to the front, Fugh the horns!
