Doogie's Spotlight Kid
How good is Doogie White's version of the spotlight kid !! I think it's great, better than Joe Lynn Turners version of it anyday
Nice one Doogie !!

Re: Doogie's Spotlight Kid
by far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doogie was the man that bring back Rainbow legacy to a decent way. Cos it's always frustating (IMO at least) hear great Blackus Riff/songs (as Spotlight Kid) with a lousy (or limited for those who liked him) pop singer.

Re: Doogie's Spotlight Kid
Isn't he just paying tribute to Joe Lynn Turner?
Seriously though, it rocks. And I thought he did a cracking Perfect Strangers too for that matter.

Re: Doogie's Spotlight Kid
Yeah, he did it very well.
But personally, I could have done with out SK in the set. Opening with Tarot Woman, Kill The King or a track from SIUA would have been better IMO.

Yes, agree too. Can't think of a song that Doogie didn't tackle well.

Re: Doogie's Spotlight Kid
In 1997 I was completely floored at Mistreated, wasn't expecting them to play it,and yes Doogie can handle any Rainbow song, and then some!
Backstage he was very nice.

This happened in '96 when SK was dropped and they opened with TLFT (and later LLRNR) .

Re: Doogie's Spotlight Kid
Ritchie did a very wise decision when recruiting Doogie; he’s the perfect combination between RJD and JLT. Doogie is a great singer with a fantastic voice. And the subsequent tours were amazing, although I did miss a few songs from Down To Earth. Would have loved it if they had opened with EOTW or even KTK
