Shades of Deep Purple: 55th Anniversary
The debut album, it begins here, it means the band is about more or less 55 years old. Wow!
A strong debut IMHO, the only song I don't like is "Help", I still listens to this album. Rod Evans kinda remind of Elvis Presley, if only he did not agree to the Bogus Deep Purple, he could have released more albums.
I love "Mandrake Root", "I'm So Glad", "And the Address", "Hey Joe" and others, except "Help".
This album deserves a reissue.
What do you think of this album???

Re: Shades of Deep Purple: 55th Anniversary
By the way I wish they named this just "Deep Purple" to avoid confusion with the third album.

Re: Shades of Deep Purple: 55th Anniversary
MKI are my second favorite after the mighty MKII. "And the Address" is still one of their best album opening songs. Not a bad track on this album as far as I am concerned.
