Re: Glenn solo dates celebrating BURN

Good.

1 excellent album (Higher Ground), 1 substantially less than album (Radiance).

Bring on some BCC (or a solo one)!

EDIT: oops! Make that Holy Ground. See? Even that one's not so memorable

The DD Like No Other (Bassline) is one of my favorite GH tracks, great vocals and bass work.

Frome for me. I think this will be the third or fourth time for his Purple set. Always very entertaining.

First time for me to the Cheese & Grain in Frome. A big wide room and sold out with 700 people.

Set list:
Stormbringer
Might Just Take Your Life
Sailway (with a guitar blitz to start - thought it was going to be Mistreated)
You Fool No One
Mistreated
Gettin' Tighter
You Keep On Moving

Highway Star
Burn

You Fool No One (inc a long drum solo), Mistreated (inc a long and gentle guitar solo) and Gettin' Tighter (inc amongst other things - dance to the rock and roll) must have been 45 minutes plus in total. Really was a throwback to MKIII.

Glenn in fine voice as per usual (I could do without the element of self indulgence that made Georgia On..from the original days a bit tedious but that's his USP I suppose)

Love Soren Anderson's approach - reverential without being slavish to the original. Impressed with the new Keys even if was low in the mix at times and hard to hear and the drummer impressed even doing a one handed drum roll in his solo.

Same set at Planet Rockstock but without Highway Star. Didn't think GH was in quite as good voice as Frome but the band were absolutely on fire. If that's the last time he does the DP set then it was a fitting and blistering end
