Re: Jeff Beck RIP
RIP Geoffrey (Jeff) Arnold Beck. Saw him perform live at the Sydney Opera House, always I thought I'd get another chance to see him play. Gone too soon.

Re: Jeff Beck RIP
One of the few guitarists that played like he was on fire from the beginning of his career to the end, especially when you consider he had actually been doing it for 60 years! BLOW BY BLOW and WIRED are probably my two favorites among many favorites by him, but I must say the song "Beck's Bolero" has to be one of the most groundbreaking songs of all time. Very few songs could open a concert better than that one.

Re: Jeff Beck RIP
A Huge and unique talent no doubt but I personally never really got into his music, but then I'm not a fan of instrumental albums I prefer songs ie satch and vai etc do nothing for me either.Like Jeff Beck I appreciate their talent but not really my thing though I did like the yardbirds and the jeff beck group with Rod Stewart 😀

Re: Jeff Beck RIP
Of course, a marvellous musician and one of the most influential guitarists. Just for the sake of discussion, though, I'll say that I never really connected with his music maybe because he was a great performer but not a great writer. Let's compare it, for instance, with his friend Jimmy Page who had both skills and vision. When you look at Beck-ola and the first Zeppelin album, both released at the same time, with several remakes, in one case the same song (You shook me), I'd say Beck-ola is the last of the great late 60's British blues albums, while Led Zeppelin 1 is the first of the giant 70's rock albums.
Pete Townshend is the opposite, not necessarily a technical performer but a genius writer (and what a showman, of course). Hendrix was in another league in both fields.

Re: Jeff Beck RIP
With the passing of the legend, another dream of mine is shattered.
One of my dream lineup.
Jeff Beck
Ian Gillan
Roger Glover
Jon Lord/Don Airey
Ian Paice
Reminds me how I felt when Gary Moore and Ronnie Montrose died.
