(Not another topic to criticize recent tours! though it will probably end up that way)
The few outings for this song in 1971 were enjoyable but I always thought that Mk Morse could have handled this song very well. I still think Gillan could sing it reasonably well. A pity they never tried it.

I agree FDR. One of my favorite DP songs. Morse would have done a great job IMHO. Roger's bass playing on this song is excellent!

Regarding Rog bass playing on this song, yes it's great and I often think it's a little different than his usual more steady style, a little funkier, also compared to the rest of the Fireball album. Sometimes I wonder, but I know it's 99% not true, if it's maybe Ritchie playing or suggesting lines. Goes to show what a great musician Glover really is, and was.

Well, the song isn't strictly a blues track. I'd call it rather a riffy-funky rock moment. It's a song that I wish could be revisited sometimes.

Do you really think that Morse didn't play enough Blackmore era songs? I always regretted that they didn't more songs live to which he had delivered creative input.
