Don't see the point ptr? Ian already recorded an epic version off Brazos on Naked Thunder and his voice is far weaker now, dont see what a current DP version would do for us?

I didnt mean copies of those versions I mentioned - I meant Purple takes of those arrangements. In both I think IG would shine.
Fair enough ptr but as i say i dont see the point for the reasons i mentioned?
DP didn't exactly stray far from the originals on Turning to Crime so I'm not sure what you would expect from the tracks you mentioned ?

Actually, DP played "Ain't no more cane on the brazos" at a show I went to in 2015 or '16. It was totally unexpected: Gillan started singing and Airey quickly joined. Unrehearsed but fun. At the same show they played Wring that neck and a rough version of Hip boots.
