Re: Deep Purple albums and songs sales
Can't comment on the accuracy but it misses all the live albums. Given that DP had something like 3 of the top 5 selling albums in 1973 in the US and one of those was MIJ then you could probably double he numbers. 24 carat purple also not included.

Re: Deep Purple albums and songs sales
If I was being cynical, very successful 1970-1973, lived off that period ever since.
If not being cynical, badly managed from 1973 to about 2011.

Re: Deep Purple albums and songs sales
Nice to note that the last three records have sold a total of million copies according to their record company. A respectable number these days

The "time trilogy", consisting of "NOW What?!", "inFinite" and "Whoosh!" (2013, 2017 and 2020) have sold over 1 million albums, topped the charts 11 times and achieved more than 40 Top 10 positions worldwide.

Re: Deep Purple albums and songs sales
Actually if you scroll down the whole entry you can get numbers for MiJ (close to 9m) and 24Ct etc under what they call 'compilations'. The numbers are interesting. We might argue about accuracy, and this page explains how difficult it is to compile accurate numbers, but from here in the US it shows a huge drop off once Blackmore left. Europe, interestingly, remained strongly supportive of the band. Amazing to me that according to these numbers, Slaves and Masters outsold Purpendicular here by almost 10x in the US. That new lease of life many of us heard with the first Morse album was apparently not widely shared over here.
Numbers suggest the 'time trilogy' might approach a million all included, certainly not a million each from the data provided. If you follow the links to their all time artist sales, DP seem to nudge into the top 50, with total sales similar to Bowie and Van Halen. All good fun, as they say, even Ian Paice is confused by it, saying all he knows is that they have sold some amount that is greater than 10 but probably less than 500m. He would appear to be correct
