Jon would have been 80 today
I'm pretty sure that today would have been the great man's 80th.
I wonder what beautiful music he would have written if he'd still been with us these last 9 years.
A true genius, his legacy and his beautiful gifts live on.

I agree 100%. I think his post Purple work was excellent! His last album, "To Notice Such Things" just might be his best solo work IMHO. Jon and Ritchie made the best and most powerful Keyboards/Guitar team of all time!!

Watched Come Hell or High Water on Sky Arts a couple of days ago, my first Deep Purple related viewing for a couple of years. The main thing I got from watching this was how much I miss Jon. I was always caught up with the Gillan/Blackmore rivalry and although I knew Jon was there of course, I never really took much notice of his overall contribution.
Great performer and very much missed.
