Don Airey Live in Hamburg

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Live-Hamburg-Don-Airey/dp/B08PJM9N4H/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=don+airey&qid=1613550392&s=music&sr=1-1

Nobody interested in this? I am. The setlist, though not what I'd pick from his career, has some interesting choices and his touring band really shines. Should be good.

Yes. I love those live tracks at the end of the last studio album. Same show I think. Band is incredible! One show I would love to see. Getting this.

Listening to this right now: Desperado slays! A booklet with a few pics is missed, though.

The band is great. Lame setlist tough. Hush and Black Night? Come on, there would be so much great stuff from Don's (own!) career to pick from!

Have to agree: it's a great gig and the band is super tight, sometimes I almost wish Bonnet would join them for the Down to earth songs! The setlist has a few inspired choices: Nuclear attack, Desperado, the Airey band solo stuff...but the purple stuff doesn't work on a live album as it probably did on the night. And then, no Ozzy classics? at least Mr Crowley...come on...

Indeed, I've seen that tour, and the performance was superb, but the setlist was slightly disappointing. Not enough of his own material, and the choice of old classics could have been better for me. I've seen other shows with much more interesting setlists, such as these;

I guess however, for the record company, a little bit more Purple was seen as a better choice...

Quite right ! However, as much as I would do without Hush and Black Night, it's clear they are both there to be a vehicule for some improvistion, band introduction with small solos etc. But then again, Gimme Some Lovin' works just as well for that, without feeling it's over-heard.

And I must say it's much more boring when listening to it at home than when it's played live...

Just got it and I like it a lot. Now if only Glover would do a solo tour and put out a live CD. He has some great solo material. The "Mask" was very under rated! Love it!
