Re: Ian Paice's new Youtube channel drumtribe
In the last video, Ian says he and the band always loved Leslie West and Mountain but never worked together. Completely wrong as Mountain opened for DP on several dates in 1985, including the famous Paris gig and of course at Knebworth. I seem to remember also Mountain playing a few dates with Purple in 1994, during the Satriani European shows, but I could be wrong.
Leslie guested on stage with Purple playing Smoke at least once. Strange Little Ian doesn't remember these facts.
Of course Leslie also played with Gillan for the Toolbox album.

Re:
Perhaps "working together" means something different to him than playing support or guesting on an encore.
And he's got nothing to do with Gillan's solo stuff.

Sure, but just second before he says that they "worked with Uriah many times and collaborated on quite a few tours", then "Mountain, no, we never played with Mountain".

I hear that Leslie West came out and joined them on Smoke. That would have been a great thing to see. I'm usually in AC in July for a week or two and then September and October to finish out the year. I came in towards the end of July that time. I wish that I would have come in for the show.

Yup.
It was a fun show.
Had breakfast at the table next to West at the hotel eatery. It blew my mind. It was great to see nobody bother him.

Then it's confusing indeed.
