Coverdale Page
Just been listening to the Coverdale Page album for the first time in years and there are some really good tracks on it .
Page gives a fine Performance (perhaps the best thing he's done since Led Zeppelin broke up?)
DC gives a decent performance but some of his vocals are a bit throaty?
Bit of a change of vocal style for him and not for the better IMHO
Thoughts?

I agree. His voice changed since SOTT, not for the better and he sometimes doesn't find the best way to settle the problem. His vocals are sometimes too throaty, even though occasionaly it feels like an intersting change. What I really doesn't like is when he sounds just too high, like a mouse, wich wasn't a case before. I think he's very good on Don't leave me this way,Take a look at yourself, Pride and joy...All in all, he could have done better. Only if there had been someone to tell him to try a different approach.

Re: Coverdale Page
Although this album features David's changed voice (something I first noticed on the Slip album and MOR show in 1990) I think this album has great performances by both players.I this DC sounds great and sings in a variety of ranges and styles to suit the material. I would love a decent remix and master.

Re: Coverdale Page
I was shocked by his voice when i first heard CP. I think he buggered himself singing out of his natural range during the hairspray years and he's never been the same since.

Re: Coverdale Page
I like it. Sure, Cov sounded a bit 'different', but, overall, I think that he sounds fine here. We haven't heard much from Page over the years. This, The Firm and a couple of things with Plant and Jones. I think that it is about the equal of the Plant/Page release. Maybe better, because they didn't rehash a lot of old Zep stuff. A good effort by both.

Re: Coverdale Page
Don't get me wrong i like the record. It's the only thing decent that page has done since 1980! (He's no Blackmore when it comes to the solos mind)
