Re: The ROCK Album
I read a recent interview with DC over the weekend which suggested the Rock Album was a 'tasting plate' of what's to come and that everything from Slide It In onwards is being given a fresh coat of paint. Surely not another re-release of the Slide It In, 1987 and SOTT albums?
I just wonder how expensive it would be for DC to obtain the rights to all the albums before Slide It In. I've always read that they were owned by John Colletta's estate but whoever it is that owns them surely could strike a deal which would be beneficial to both parties.

Re: The ROCK Album
With regard to the early WS albums why not select the best tracks and re-record them with the current band AND bring in a couple of guests like Bernie...

Re: The ROCK Album
I saw that some (if not all) of the remixes are now on YouTube. Sounds to me like the bass guitar is a lot higher in the mix now. Sounded like extra or more prominent keyboards also

Re: The ROCK Album
Well, I've given the album a couple of plays to date- streaming through Apple Music rather than the cd which I haven't bought- not yet anyway. It's a good collection of strong material. The remixes are for the most part very good. SOTN really benefits from much louder bass, and the Restless Heart tracks all sound more polished and powerful all round. HIGA is a strange one though- DC's voice is more prominent, but it's like all the reverb and echo has been removed from the vocal and it just doesn't sound right to me. I'm also not overly keen on What's been done to "She Give Me" as it really misses one of the guitars that's been pretty much removed completely. On the whole though, most tracks sound great.
Quite whether this is sufficient reason to reissue all the albums from Slide It In onwards is very dubious- especially the albums which have already had the box set treatment

Re: The ROCK Album
I like most of it. The mixes are fresh and dynamic and generally work well. HIGA is a bit odd at first and the vocal sounds quite "raw" but I do like it. Better than I expected. I really do want to hear Restless Heart and Into the Light in full based on this...
Tell Me How and Best Years sound epic... much better than the original album and his voice sounds great on them.

Re: The ROCK Album
The best period was over in 1984 (imo). DC rates Ready an Willing and Come an Get it among his favourite albums. Let‘s hope we can hear early remixes sometimes too.
