Re: Re:
I remember Witchy. Simon sure did give SIUA a thrashing. He also didn't like the one Rainbow show that was televised. It must be the RockPalast show that has now been released on DVD. Now I really have to get out those magazines.

Re: Dealer
I got DPAS in those days too and maybe Simon was a little harsh on Blackmore. SIUA is in my opinion a great album and S&M not bad at all. I dislike the trash talk about JLT just as much as I do about Ian Gillan.

Re: Dealer
SIUA has grown on me and S&M was a pretty good album. JLT did a great job on that album. I still think his best work was BOOS. A very under rated Rainbow album. One thing about Simon, he always gives his honest opinion and if not for him, we wouldn't have many of the remastered CD's and live DP shows we have today.

This is entirely true. Until 1989 he was one of the biggest Blackmore fans on Earth, and his CD release work shows that.

Re: Dealer
Back to the original post, I love the song and the entire album. Still one of my favourite DP albums.
IFIRC both the band and the album was heavily criticised at the time, the first Wembley show in 76 had a famously critical review. However I think the album is great.
DPAS was savage towards JLT and this moved on to RB in the 90's.
SIUA has grown on me over the years, and now I could happily listen to the album.....I doubt I would ever listen to S&M again.
