Re: Slip Of The Tongue - 30th Anniversary release I'm listening on my phone via Spotify on a train being English and having a cup of tea. I almost spat it out after listening to the fool for your loving wagging tongue interview. Maybe DC put it on as therapy given what he said about the ex band members. Give it a listen, It's as I remember him on one or two interviews on that tour, defensive and disrespectful. Then when the interviewer says kittens got claws is his favourite track... However its all very interesting!
Re: Slip Of The Tongue - 30th Anniversary release Have played it all and it’s the most disappointing of all the recent box sets for me. Umpteen inferior versions of tracks that weren’t great in the first place. DCs vocals on the extra discs are well ropey in places because he was singing right at the very top of his range on much of this album, so he was straining for a lot of the notes. Not great- I’ve no desire to listen to all the extras more than once. Slide It In box set was a joy. This one was a struggle to get through.

Yes, I remember him calling ex-members Disneyland musicians. I hope I'll be able to listen the box-set soon. Saddly, the link Ain't gonna cry doesn't work for me.
Re: Slip Of The Tongue - 30th Anniversary release Slip of the tongue wasn't maybe on the level of 1987, but still very good, if not exellent album, with some outstanding tracks. This album introduced me to Whitesnake and was pretty popular here where I live. I prefere 1978-84 approach to the rock (music and image), but still, unlike moste of you, I think Vai did a great job, he put out maximum of these songs, his style suits the tracks well and it's maybe his life achievement. Interesting line-up, but too much flameboyant (David's terme).
This edition is, generally speaking, interesting, with some remarks: a) as always, I don't know what's the point of changing tracks running order (CD 1); b) I don't understand the point of CD 2 (ok for the interview parts, but the same tracks from the album again?); c) Evolution idea (wich concerns 1987 edition too) is interesting, but, at least for me, just for one listen (CD 3).
Monitor mixes are worth listening (CD 4) and CD 5 too (just not clear for me what is Adrian contrubution on these versions is). Album outtakes (kill for a cat and parking ticket) are interesting but wasn't enough seriouse for the album and versions, including the old songs too. Donington 1990 story (CD 6) has been told many times until now; I think the band was ok, spectacular show no doubt, but DC...hmm...if not at his top - still, comparing to 2019, he sounds like a humming bird.
