Gillan & Airey contractual obligation
Arrived today and listening to it now. Sounds great. Gillan having backing singers a la Coverdale really helps as he doesn't have to push on the chorus's.

Re:
Saw the blu ray last night. Highlights were Anya (minus the trumpet intro) & don's solo on hell to pay.
Have to say Simon McBride was brilliant on guitar 🎸.

Re:
Awaiting my blu ray, and vinyl.
Meanwhile I’ve listened to the stream (great move to release 3 different nights - wish more bands would do that)
Sounds very good indeed. Makes you realize how amazing Ian Paice is, though

Every time anyone covers a Purple track you realise how good Paice is! (Particularly Whitesnake)

Indeed. Meanwhile there are a few drummers who can play Burn in a way that sounds like Purple, but it ain't many.

Re: Gillan & Airey contractual obligation
did anyone order their blu ray from amazon?
it's still listed as a pre-order, with no release date. yet, the cd and vinyl are both available for purchase.

Re: Gillan & Airey contractual obligation
Got the Blu-ray a few days ago already in Germany. However, so far I only had the chance to listen to the CD which is quite nice. First need to get the family out of the house to be able to watch the Blu-ray in peace...

Re: Gillan & Airey contractual obligation
watched the blu ray today.
nice sounding and looking release. the band is tight, (guitar player is brilliant) and the set has quite a few interesting tracks.
neat to have different nights for different formats, although the gigs hardly differ.

Re: Gillan & Airey contractual obligation
Very interesting is the setlist. Every time Gillan is on the road without DP he sings songs that are not played by DP for a long time.
