The basic thing is: the new DP album doesn't concern in any way RB. Let's talk about something positive like Don's contributions, how much what he does with Purple is also present in his solo work, what did you think of RG's bass sound - note that he used the same guitar thatw as used on The Wall and Peter Gabriel's album. Do you think he's gonna use the same bass, did you like it on InFinite? Would you prefer shorter songs this time or are we more into the progrock territory that Steve Morse presents? There's a plenty to talk about. The point is to use your imagination. Period.

Now i'm curious about your answers to your questions. I don't follow current DP closely enough to say much about all that (except that for me, the length of the songs isn't deciding), but as you said you want to have the thread back on topic, I'm confident that you have something to say about the topics you listed.

You're certainly not entitled to speak for the board as a whole. If I'd disappear from this thread, it might well be convenient for you, but I'm not sure that everyone else shares this point of view.

This referred to the entries before which had been about Ezrin communicating with Steve Morse about his style of playing. doggone wanted to do some kind of comparison, and this led to the following entries which focussed on Blackmore as well as DP. The thread has been offtopic - if you consider it being this - for more than five pages, and I wasn't by far the only one who contributed to that.
However, I respect that at least you want to have the focus back on DP's upcoming album - as far as it is possible to talk about an album which hasn't yet been recorded. I'm still curious about your answers to your questions, and I'm not eager to continue discussing about what Mr Blackmore does in this thread.

Let's face it, any new DP album is like your grandmother's funeral. You don't want it to happen but it's inevitable. You just want it done with the least fuss and the least interference from the parts of the family you don't get on with.
