You're missing the point. The key word is "memorable". RB (and others in DP) inspired, and still do, kids to learn, practice and emulate. Blackmore's solos have become almost a right of passage, you have to know them and attempt them. You can play like Satriani or Morse, but not many real people will have the desire to recreate any of their "solos".

Real easy, Blackmore has to be present.
And he can use a band, computer or do everything alone.
He has released several songs under the name of Rainbow, so he could in fact choose some other BN songs and rerecord them as Rainbow.
Does it satisfy me, do I think that it's Rainbow, isn't important. If Blackmore wants to release it as Rainbow, than it is Rainbow. Will I buy it? Guess not, just like I didn't buy the last 3 or 4 or 5 BN albums. Only if I find them cheap.
