My guess is there wont be any US Rainbow shows but they will be some Blackmores night shows in the US. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ nondisclosed_email@example.com (lynxwizard1)Tue, 18 Jun 2019 02:36:54 +0000 Re: Keith Roth says RB looking into US tour w/ rainbowhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518693,from=rss#post518693https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518693,from=rss#post518693I caught DP at the Palace Of Auburn Hills during the S&M tour. It was packed, although I'm not sure if it was a sell out. A bit of a delay at the beginning, as Ritchie's guitar was for some reason out of tune or maybe just wasn't right. The show was excellent. JLT did a fine job, especially on the MKIII stuff. I thought that it was a good tour, considering that they shot themselves in the foot on the previous tour by delaying the release of HOBL when they were at the height of their popularity. They put on some great shows on that tour, also. I think that the fans here will enjoy having Blackers here one more time. Considering how they seem to look past the current DP with Gillan hacking out a lung and will probably do the same with Coverdale as he squawks his way through the Whitesnake catalog, I'm sure that they will enjoy seeing Ritchie and have a good time seeing the band.nondisclosed_email@example.com (JSA1)Thu, 09 May 2019 19:27:12 +0000 Re: Keith Roth says RB looking into US tour w/ rainbowhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518498,from=rss#post518498https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518498,from=rss#post518498quote:Blackmaple wrote: Gothenburg was poorly attended as far as I remember Gothenburg and Stockholm in 1991 where 2/3 full if I remember correctly. All tree of them packed to the rafters. No doubt the rest of the European shows were like that as well. 1993, saw Rotterdam, Brussels, Essen(Germany) All 3 of thenm packed to the rafters. Dont believe what Gillan says about this.nondisclosed_email@example.com (purpelaar)Tue, 23 Apr 2019 17:33:23 +0000 Re: Re:https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518207,from=rss#post518207https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518207,from=rss#post518207quote:Concrete god wrote: But Germany is not North America is it..? Let me think ... ... hm ... ... I suspect you're right. Seriously: I don't know whether they did the big halls in Germany and the smaller venues in the USA in 1991. Perhaps simply because the big halls here weren't as big as those in the USA. Places like the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg weren't existing in Germany in 1991. However, in 1993 the USA tour was cancelled completely, so compared to that the 1991 USA tour was quite big. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Witchy Nightmare)Sat, 23 Mar 2019 23:52:29 +0000 Re: Re:https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518206,from=rss#post518206https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518206,from=rss#post518206quote:Witchy Nightmare wrote: For me, the performace is what decides, not whether they played to 8.000 or 80.000 people. Don't forget that Slaves & Masters was a much more popular album in the US than THOBL and TBRO. King Of Dreams was really huge there.nondisclosed_email@example.com (SneakyPrivateLee)Sat, 23 Mar 2019 19:25:27 +0000 Re:https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518203,from=rss#post518203https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518203,from=rss#post518203For me, the performace is what decides, not whether they played to 8.000 or 80.000 people. And you could argue 1991 too, and go back to 1987/88 as the last time. Almost a lifetime ago. Concerning Blackmore's contribution, 1991 was certainly more high profile than 1987/88. Sure, you could argue that. But still it was an aborted tour in mostly halls, not arenas. Radio Music Hall the closest to high profile. Giant Stadium in 1988 being much more high profile in terms of general interest. I'm not talking performance here.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Concrete god)Sat, 23 Mar 2019 17:56:04 +0000 Re: Keith Roth says RB looking into US tour w/ rainbowhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518201,from=rss#post518201https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p518201,from=rss#post518201quote:Concrete god wrote: It's mindboggling to realise that the last time Ritchie Blackmore did any high profile concerts in North America is 1991. Though nothing is final. Keith as I understand is a close friend of RBs. Hope it gets finalized!nondisclosed_email@example.com (nyfan2)Tue, 26 Feb 2019 17:15:37 +0000
