I guess this album is mostly for Purple/Rainbow fans as it succesfully reconnects the fans with the glorious Purple past. The opening track Not That Kind Of Man has a brilliant 1980s Purple/Rainbow vibe that will put a smile on every fan's face, especially guitar licks. The songs may lack in originality but that's not the point here. There are bits and pieces that are so wonderfully Blackmorish that it is hard not to enjoy it. The low point is the overall sound of the album. You can certainly hear it wasn't recorded in Nashville or New York. The drums sound particularly awful (they're too much up front imho) but having said it is a cover band, I can still enjoy it. Doogie and Joe are the usual themselves, and it's great. Doogie has the 'inhaling' moments that remind me of Coverdale at his finest whereas Joe sings beautifully in Don't Let Me Bleed, a bluesy tune with a Mistreated undertone. I'm sure Doogie and Joe give the album additional validity and quality and Come taste The Band well deserve it.nondisclosed_email@example.com (SneakyPrivateLee)Wed, 20 Feb 2019 14:44:47 +0000 JLT and DW guesting on Come Taste The Band new CDhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517944,from=rss#post517944https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517944,from=rss#post517944Apparently Joe Lynn Turner and Doogie White are sole singers on Come Taste The Band's new CD called "Reignition". The album came out on January 25th. Joe sings on two songs, while Doogie helms the band in the rest of the songs. Has anyone heard it yet? https://www.discogs.com/Come-Taste-The-Band-Reignition/release/13170709nondisclosed_email@example.com (SneakyPrivateLee)Thu, 14 Feb 2019 07:21:45 +0000
