Re: Slide It In – Ultimate Special Edition
the version of SITS is interesting as lead break by Sykes, which is amazingly melodic, reiterating Coverdale's vocal melody.
Also, one of the demos of Hungry for love sounded better than the actual LP version.
I was surprised they included the 'sniffing' noises and references to 'toot'...hmmm...

Re: Slide It In – Ultimate Special Edition
I think I have finally managed to listen to everything on the box set. I really enjoyed the new 2019 remix which sounds somewhere in between the original UK mix and the USA mix to me. Great to hear Jon and Micky’s solos on Hungry for Love, which were inexplicably cut from the released version. I also enjoyed listening to the rough mixes and monitor mixes with early lyrics and vocals. Overall, listening to this has reiterated what a terrific album this was.

Really enjoying the 2019 remixes. In particular Need Your Love So Bad and Love Ain't No Stranger. Well worth the purchase.
God his voice was really at its peak in 84.

I think he was pretty much untouchable back then.

Re: Slide It In – Ultimate Special Edition
Wow, what a package.
The remix is excellent, like hearing the album from new again and so much reverence to Jon Lord. Brilliant.
The out takes are great.
The live at Glasgow is excellent. The audienceis immense...this was Whitesnake as a religious experience!!
Brilliant.

Re: Slide It In – Ultimate Special Edition
This is definitely my favourite out of the 3 recent box-sets. All 3 versions of the album are good in different ways. I left the Live in Glasgow CD till last as I was at the gig and was apprehensive that my memories might be tarnished if the recording wasn't as good as I remember it being. It's a fairly raucous, warts and all recording and not without it's faults- but overall I enjoyed it and despite it being 35 years ago, listening to the concert brought back memories of the gig that were long-since forgotten.

is it the Radio Clyde soundboard recording?
I have a bootleg of that gig but it's missing; Slow & Easy, Need Your Love so Bad, Slide It In & Don't Break My Heart Again. What are the 2019 release versions like?

Re: Slide It In – Ultimate Special Edition
Without a doubt the best of the reissues. Amazing value for money as far as I'm concerned.
I liked both 1987 and Unzipped but this one seemed to have more "love" in it. If that makes sense.

it is indeed the Clyde broadcast ex Tom's comments of course! Includes all the above tracks plus keyboard solo, no drum extravanganza tho....it's a fantastic addition to the SII reissue!
