I'm gonna listen to this seriously someday.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Randys)Wed, 26 Dec 2018 13:55:30 +0000 Re: California Jam Lphttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517532,from=rss#post517532https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517532,from=rss#post517532Got the Lp this morning. As someone mentioned YFNO and ST are HEAVILY edited, no fade out, they made some kind of remix (that could fool a casual listener) where you actually got the beginning, some verses and choruses, some of the solo and the ending. That's really too bad that they didn't release it as a double album, because the sound quality is really good, the vinyl is of good quality and a nice purple colour. The artwork is simple but quite good too.nondisclosed_email@example.com (purpletemple)Sat, 15 Dec 2018 19:46:44 +0000 Re: California Jam Lphttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517525,from=rss#post517525https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517525,from=rss#post517525quote:recklessabandoner wrote: Old management should add CalJam to their The Official Deep Purple (Overseas) Live Series. Everything called "The best of DP" or "Greatest Hits" or something like that requires a lot of caution. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Witchy Nightmare)Wed, 12 Dec 2018 18:53:47 +0000 Re: California Jam Lphttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517508,from=rss#post517508https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517508,from=rss#post517508There is much crap out there. I bought a Best of DP CD at WalMart. It had a 4 minute CIT, HS had both solo's cut off, as did Burn. I own a couple of cd's/ Lp's released by them. They're mostly Live recordings (sources vary) put on records, and I can't complain about the quality of what I've bought so far. My real concern is the SotW/YFNO and ST on one side... Anyway, I couldn't resist and bought it...I'll let you guys know in a few days... nondisclosed_email@example.com (purpletemple)Tue, 11 Dec 2018 16:12:42 +0000 Re: California Jam Lphttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517497,from=rss#post517497https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517497,from=rss#post517497It doesn't seem legit to me. It's from a company called "Sounds LTD". We had a company called "Creative Sounds" here in the States that put out Deep Purple's first 3 albums on CD in the 1980's that were taken directly off old records. It appears that the person running this company is from the States. You could hear all the scratches and clicks and the CD labels were unfocused. I think it might be part of the same company plus, how could Smoke, YFNO and ST be on the same side. Also, the reviews for Sounds LTD are terrible!!nondisclosed_email@example.com (doggone)Tue, 11 Dec 2018 09:59:54 +0000 Re: California Jam Lphttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517496,from=rss#post517496https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517496,from=rss#post517496I don't see how that could be right; YFNO and Space Truckin' would each take up one whole side as could those versions of Mistreated and SotW. No way they could get all of that on one single lp unless the songs are extremely edited.nondisclosed_email@example.com (RatBatBlu)Mon, 10 Dec 2018 20:24:21 +0000 Re: California Jam Lphttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517495,from=rss#post517495https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517495,from=rss#post517495It seems legit. The feedback is positive and indicates that it is what it claims to be. It is a UK company and  pressing on purple vinyl. It could be interesting.nondisclosed_email@example.com (JSA1)Mon, 10 Dec 2018 19:35:27 +0000 California Jam Lphttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517494,from=rss#post517494https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p517494,from=rss#post517494Does anybody have an idea of what this is exactly?
