Re: Is this Rod Evans?
True...and I have to add I was too young at the time to really follow it as it happened, but again: this is almost 40 years ago! He does not need to have these demons live on forever...

Re:
It would be utterly unfair if Rod Evans today was remembered mainly for the 1980-mistake, and not for his great effort with Deep Purple, and also less known Captain Beyond.
Looking back, the bogus-Purple affair sure was an example of poor judgement, but at the time things like that was not that rare. And Deep Purple seemed lost and gone at the time. Sometimes mistakes are made. As mentioned a couple of posts above, nobody died from this mistake.
Deep Purple mkI deserves better than to be left in the shadow of mkII, even if that never will happen. And Captain Beyond is sadly forgotten by too many music fans today. Still sounding fresh, lively and fun, the old records shows a musical creativity that few if any bands knows these days.
Rod Evans is a true legend of the golden age of classic rock, and should not be remembered as anything less.
edit: and then I finally learn that Rod Evans actually was inducted in RRHF, after all. Stupid mistake I missed that one. Nick Simper wasn't, must have confused me. But enough of that leave out-debate.

Re:
Absolutely positively not him! Rod has a receding hair line now and that looks nothing like him. And yes, hasn't lived in U.K. In over 40 years.

Re:
This guy's background matches up with nothing Rod was known to be involved with. Rod was a medical respiratonal therapist and lost his medical license in the 90s . He certainly would be nowhere near that field if he was doing what this guy has and is.

Re: Is this Rod Evans?
Well men do have nose jobs and other surgery but they sure don't have ear jobs. For one thing Fake Rod has completely different ear lobes:
Real Rod:
The eyes are totally different, the cheek areas are different, mouth is totally different, and the nose is different. But the biggest thing are the ears. There's a guy on twitter saying he's been in touch with Rod lately and also refutes it's not him.

Boy those two pics old Rod and Foil Rod you can sure see the difference there too. Again, not even a shadow of a doubt MR Foil isn't the guy. Oh and one more thing- Fer chrissakes people have surgery to get their nose to look like DP Rod- not to look worse like Foil Rod!!!!!!

How do you know nobody have ear-jobs done??
Just kidding! John, I was convienced a couple of lightyears ago.
But in respect for "Fake Rod", I'm sure he never had the idea that anybody would mistake him for an old rock singer. So, there's really nothing fake about him. He can't be blamed he shares name with a former Deep Purple star.
A great debate about absolutely nothing! Man I love this forum!!

Re: Is this Rod Evans?
Speaking of plastic surgery, I'm surprised that the movie stars who have had lots of plastic surgery just don't get a crank installed in the back of their head so every few years they can turn it to retighten their facial skin.

Re: Is this Rod Evans?
On the You Tube video there's a relative of Rod saying it's not him , now a friend of FOIL Rod states the lawyer knows about all this silliness also and the friend also states it's not Rod of DP. Other commenters state it's ironic there's now a bogus Rod after the bogus DP debacle . Rod was a respiratory therapist and never a lawyer and hasn't lived in the UK in 50 years. Looking at the two pics above again , these men do not even look slightly alike.
