Re: Review of the Copenhagen show
Thanks Daniel. Some of the review is lost in the translation, but you get the overall picture. I have my doubts as to whether we'll ever see the stripped back type of performance described in the review. DC has not been talking about doing something like that for the last 2-3 years but it's yet to happen and next year we're in for more of the same in the shape of an 1987 40th anniversary tour.

40th anniversary???I know times passing quickly but did i just lose decade??
The thing is Whitesnake are what they are today, for me that is a very talented group of musicians who perform great versions of great songs .The weakest part of the band as we ALL know is DCs voice,he does though still perform and put on a show and his obvious vocal frailty is generally well covered by the other band members vocals. The question is do we want the band to carry on as it is or go down the acoustic route?I for one have no interest whatsoever in an acoustic or watered down Whitesnake.I hated Starkers In Tokyo.I like my rock music to rock.So for me carry on as you are DC or retire .

I'd rather see him go in a Northwinds/Into The Light direction...

Re:
I totally understand that DC performing stipped back or accoustically isn't for everyone and that's quite possibly one of the reasons DC hasn't done it-because it's unknown territory and he doesn't knowhow big his audience would be. Personally I'd like to see him do a tour like that, but I really can't see it happening now. Hate to say it but it would also really expose his voice. 5 years ago I think he could probably still have pulled it off. Now, I'm not so sure.

Both great albums RBB but I doubt whether DC has the soul left in his voice anymore to carry that off ?

Yeah, I have my doubts too, actually. I initially thought because he's not doing his Tarzan impersonations on those albums, they might be a little easier for him to do...maybe not.

Re: Review of the Copenhagen show
Hard for me to see DC going full acoustic. Unless you're CSNY circa 1974 those types of shows don't sell well and would be a sure shot to the ego for Coverdale.
Keep in mind also this is the end of the tour and his voice is always pretty much shot by the end of tours like this.
On a quick side note, it really sucks that albums no longer make an artist substantial money. It forces tours and packages where you can sell more tickets and forces more touring based on greatest hits. That can't be good for Coverdale's voice.
At this point I think DC either has to tour in the manner he has been doing, or retire. You can tell he has been thinking the same thing of late.

Not sure this is totally true. For instance, Status Quo did well with an acoustic tour in 2015 and The Scorpions played some well received acoustic shows in 2001 (with female backing singers etc).
The key to success would be the scope of the tour (not too many dates) and who he plays with.

So well that Quo are hanging up the electic guitars for good and doing only acoustic from now on.
