The Burn footage looks great, and interesting interview with NH? Haven’t seen any press for this upcoming dvd....are any track sting or venue details available?

I looked for additional interview footage but there doesn’t appear to be any unfortunately.

Great interview. DC seems to be completely comfortable now and a lot less guarded than he was even 10 years ago. I think the death of Jon Lord affected him in a profound way to be honest.

Still has a tendency to talk over others, not as bad here as with Keith Olsen a couple of years back however !
He mentions RB and he being on Capitol Radio, surely there would be a surviving recording were that the case.

Interesting interview up to a point, but also featuring DC repeating the same quotes he has been using for years now about how happy he is with the current band, bluebirds flying out of every orifice, etc.

If he is genuinely that happy and fulfilled with current WS, then fair play to him. I just find it difficult to believe that, as a guy who was such a great singer, he doesn't get frustrated at his current vocal limitations. I only play and record music for fun and even I get frustrated that I can't sing like I did 20 years ago! Perhaps he's genuinely accepting of the fact that what he's got left is what he's got left and there's nothing he can do about it. And providing his audience are also accepting of that reality and still want to buy a ticket, why not keep performing for them?

Sounds like we are in for a 30 year anniversary celebration of the 1987 album next year- and therefore I do wonder if DC will be stopping WS (as we know it) after the current tour after all.

The band sound great on the Burn clip- what a difference the keyboards make. It sounds far superior to the studio version on the Purple album. Vocally, I'd bet my mortgage that the vocals have been overdubbed and DC (to me) sounds merely OK-ish......

In the first part I think you've nailed it. I would like someone to ask him the question directly..."do you think you can still handle these songs in the way they should be sung?". It shouldn't be asked Dave Ling style, I would just like to know.

To me the Burn clip sounds great musically and David also sounds good on this (better than the recent studio version). It maybe overdubbed or it maybe tampered with, but what artiste doesn't in all honesty? On the whole I like the way the show has been filmed and edited. Exciting.

Yeah, all vocals o/dubbed for sure! Wasn’t there some form of 25 year celebration CD already? Wonder what else there’d be to include?

I imagine he’s is pretty satisfied, he’s had a great run....still can perform to some extent, solid family life etc.

Just one thing, he mentioned some spiritual beliefs, does that mean he follows some form of organised religion these days?

Re: The Purple dvd

I fully expected DC to re-do the vocals- especially as the video seems to have been shot so late in the tour. So no criticism for him in that respect. I look forward to seeing the Purple dvd- firstly because I couldn't go to a gig and secondly because even on the You Tube clips the band play the material better live than on the record. So bring it on!

Clip looks very good imo

Some overdubs on the lead vocals, but more so on the backing vocals it seems??

Too bad they didn't film a gig earlier on the tour when there were more purple songs in the set

Anyways - hopefully this is will be released soon!

Yeah, i’m interested in getting this. Had no interest in going to the gigs, but with pristine quality/overdubs, plus alternate versions (hopefully) plus bonus features it could be a worthwhile package.
