I find that opening with Doctor Doctor works very well, and it's been played at the end for so long, by Michael and Ufo as well. Congrats on the editing of the dvd: must have been a first for you and you did a good job, the footage captures very well the atmosphere of the night without being too frantic. Waiting for TOR news, don't forget Demon's eye: would love to see you live in Italy: if you're not too expensive, I know a rock club in Verona that would be perfect for you guys!nondisclosed_email@example.com (fdr)Thu, 02 Jun 2016 22:15:36 +0000 Re:https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p502071,from=rss#post502071https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p502071,from=rss#post502071I suggested starting with Dr Dr more to get it out of the way than anything else. People may then pay attention to the rest of the set rather than waiting for THAT song or indeed leaving if it was played as the final song. I stole the idea from the Eagles in Japan in 95 when they started with Hotel California and also from seeing the reaction when Dr Dr is played before Maiden play. I don't have blu ray so I have not seen the DVD. I spent long enough editing it to make it fast and a bit BANG BANG. I have not read any of Michaels interviews so I don't know what he has said about Rudi or the others. TOR is taking 2016 off and regrouping later with a new album and lots of touring. Thats the plan anyway. Glad you like the DVD and the new songs. Michael may have a point but it only relates to 1 LP and tour 30 odd years ago. I don’t see that justifying all abuse he’s dishing out out.....he can’t blame RS for much else surely? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Desperateheart)Fri, 27 May 2016 14:19:15 +0000 Re: Temple of rock live in Madridhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501971,from=rss#post501971https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501971,from=rss#post501971...and actually this is one of the big "what if"s in rock: what it would have been like if Michael stayed with the Scorpions at the time of Lovedrive instead of Jabs...it think they would have produced some stunning records; they did anyway, though...nondisclosed_email@example.com (fdr)Thu, 26 May 2016 19:42:45 +0000 Re: Temple of rock live in Madridhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501970,from=rss#post501970https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501970,from=rss#post501970Yeah brothers in bands have long histories lol Sometimes it works great and they get along like Eddie and Alex Van Halen but usually its a case like the Gallaghers, the Davies, The Robinsons and now the Schenkers...its sad because its family but at the same time, its family...nondisclosed_email@example.com (RatBatBlu)Thu, 26 May 2016 17:55:42 +0000 Re: Temple of rock live in Madridhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501941,from=rss#post501941https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501941,from=rss#post501941Agree. He got his act together greatly. I guess he never really lost it in the past but, I don't know what it is, a healthier way of life, a new management, maybe but recently he's doing all the right moves. This coming summer he's gonna celebrate his career with a Schenker fest show, with Bonnett, Barden an McAuley. While I prefer Temple of rock, I think this could be a good move to raise his current profile. This is why it saddens me a little to see him so negative about his brother.nondisclosed_email@example.com (fdr)Thu, 26 May 2016 06:10:17 +0000 Re: Temple of rock live in Madridhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501862,from=rss#post501862https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p501862,from=rss#post501862I'm definitely going to have to pick it up. Schenker's playing is absolutely sublime, the tone, the touch, some of the best stuff I heard him play. And it's great to see several Temple of rock songs being aired, personally I could live without another version of Doctor doctor or Lights out but I can understand (being a purple fan I learned to live with this) the need to have certain numbers. I'd love to hear just MSG (obscure) and Temple of rock stuff. What I don't understand is why in the beautiful booklet, every member presents himself and Michael felt the need to go down on his brother quite hard (like he's doing in every recent interview), regarding songwriting creddits, stealing ideas, image, career direction, etc.: I found it a little lacking in style from Michael. Doogie, if you're reading this, what's your take on this?nondisclosed_email@example.com (fdr)Thu, 19 May 2016 13:40:28 +0000
