They should have made a statement like Steve Miller did, questioning this whole charade.
Despite what Gillan stated before, in the end he just wanted all publicity to promote HIS band.

Sheer ignorance on HOF/RS jury on one hand, lack of "cojones" on band's side to demand Nick's presence on the other (the same story as with Don and Steve).

In my opinion one of the weakness of this current lineup and it's management is "diplomacy".
I think Lars and company is lobbying to the HOF that all members should be inducted, thats why Robert Trujillo was inducted.
Nobody lobbies for Nick Simper, Tommy Bolin, Steve Morse, Don Airey, etc.
Before the induction Bruce Payne could have been talking to the HOF.
