...of the ceremony was when DC CHIMES IN (i say that cause he had no business being there) and starts RAMBLING about F ucking Whitesnake. I mean, that was ABSURD!! Oh yeah, lets milk this cow, lets use the spotlight to promote this c rappy spin off. Oh, how gracious and apropriate that was. I was waiting for Gillan to talk about Black Sabbath, or Paice about Paul. Im pretty sure that must be the most embarrassing HOF moment ever.
Forget RB not attending, Morse playing Smoke note by note trying to pay tribute to RB (oh boy, dont get me start about this) or Gillans head exploding at the Q&A....DC gets the prize here.
"i say that cause he had no business being there"...
Ok, and you win the price for biggest moron on this forum!
DC was being inducted, so of course he had some business there!
Even though I agree that this speech wasn't his finest hour.
And what's with F ucking Whitesnake? You don't like 'em? Fine but no need to be insulting!
And Morse did a fine job-as usual- by paying great respect to the original version of SoTW.
Dont be mad at me cause your hero made a fool of himself. And its not only my perception, it seems to be the standart opinion. It was emabarrassing. Period. It was cringeworthy. Period.
No, he did not belong. We all know its MKII who made a impact and influenced 90% of the following heavy rock acts. Dont act as you dont know. Inducting only MKII would avoid all the drama and embarrassment.
By the way, the event was proof of my view. Lars speech was basically about MKII. The Hall presentation was about MKII also.
Glenn and DC just stood there. I think highly of Glenn, hes amazing, but again...no. And DC WAS a great singer. But ...no no.
And Morse playing Smoke note by note pretending to be some sort of tribute to RB? WHAT??? RB was and is always about NEVER playing the same old thing!!! It was NOT a tribute, quite the contrary! It was a total disregard for RB legendary improv and wild, unpredictable genius playing. It was a disgrace.
You dont act nice and predictable if you wanna pay tribute to the man. You act all evil bastard and you play a 10 minute solo that got nuffin to do with the original and piss the hall off. That would be a great tribute to RB. Remember the concerto??????
The real DP was all about being this wild shocking beast, not a boring third rate copy of the original.
First of all, I'm not mad, but it wasn't just MKII that was inducted, it was I, II and III. So DC and GH were exactly where they belong.
DC made a crappy speech that's all. And yes, he's my hero. He's the voice on my all-time fav album, along with GH...Burn.
As for the total disregard for Ritchie...Well, all he had to do was showing up.
But I respect his choice not to show up, just as I respect the current dP to play SotW in a more "original" version.
I didn't know you were such a sad person KF...
No, im happy

Re: My favourite part....
I'd like to listen to some of your music online KF- seriously- because I also record my own music (which is also available online) and genuinely enjoy listening to other people's creations, particularly those who, like myself, are not professional musicians.
I am surprised however, given that you do play yourself, that you feel you need to be quite so negative about stuff that you don't like. I'm a self taught musician, play various instruments, and have done for 35 years and, if nothing else, I've learned to appreciate all forms of music, even those I would not choose to listen to. That doesn't make the stuff I don't like crap however. And there are plenty fans of WS amongst us who much prefer the band when their music was not an 'overproduced super tecnological wall of guitars'.

Check out the Music Makers section. KF has posted some videos there.
