Gillan was so furious about HOF that Morse and Airey were not inducted. He even stated that he wouldn't attend.
According to ptr Gillan changed his mind because he didn't want DC and GH to be indentified as DP.
Now he had the chance to tell what he thinks about the HOF for not inducting SM and DA.
It's only about Gillan, mr. DP.
Than DC and GH were supposed to perform with DP but alas they were not given the opportunity. Gillan asked them to step back from performing at the induction and invited them to show up during the finale of SOTW, GH tweeted several times that he wanted to sing at the induction, but for some reason it wasn't with DP.
Again I think mr. DP had an other agenda.

This link from RS is the best possible proof - I was right! It was right that current lineup of band performed, because of these faults! The performance itself simply showed who Deep Purple in 2016 are (which was the point of that appearance there).... but yet, idiotic journalists can call interview with Glenn and David as interview with Deep Purple.  I would rather not imagine what would happen if ONLY DC/GH appeared there!

What makes you believe, that Gillan is Mr. DP today? If I listen to the music of the band, I would think - but I don't know - it's Mr. Airey. If I collected the interviews from members of the band, it could be Mr. Glover. But I don't know. So where is the proof, that Mr. Gillan is Mr. DP nowadays?

Apparently NWA choose not to play because they disagreed with the producers on whats songs to play. Ricky Nielsen confirmed they were told which songs to play...wtf!!

I know there's no proof just like so many comments posted here.
Musically I think Airey is the most important member nowadays. Gillan was never leading in the musical direction, he was responsible for lyrics and melodies. Which he did great.
Gillan is mere a spokesman. And it was him who talked to DC and GH not to perform at the HOF. The thing that escalated the whole Blackmore debate came from the Gillan website with adding that Ritchie, David and Glenn were welcome to join during the encore.
Which wasn't in the first announcement

So you were right !!!!
But unfortunately the performance of the touring band didn't make RS realise that David and Glenn are no longer in DP.
So it wouldn't have made a difference if Gillan hadn't come to the induction as he told before.
And he could have given DC and GH the opportunity to perform with DP. That wouldn't have changed a bit about the perception of RS who is in DP and who is not.
Even Blackmore is in DP according RS although he left 22 years ago.
I still think it was a lame excuse of Gillan (DP) to exclude DC and GH just for the promotion of the upcoming album. It had little to do with excluding SM and DA. If so Gillan should have had to balls to speak out just like Steve Miller did. But that maybe would have a negative effect on the upcoming album.
