Glenn was on Twitter last night and was clearly disappointed. He pointedly said he wanted to play, David wanted to play and that the Hall wanted them all to play together. He said Ian G. was running the show. He also retweeted someone's tweet about Ian and "the rat faced manager" stopping them.
as for David, he posted a pretty picture that said "let the healing begin" but before that he posted a funny pic of a pill called "fukitall" and said maybe he'd take 2 of them last night. David is pretty classy on Twitter I'd doubt we'll hear more from him about it.

Doesnt seem to be disappointed or frustrated... The question is, how long space inductees have for their perfomances - I have read that each band have about 8 minutes (I dont know, that´s what I have read) - actually, then it´s nearly impossible to do some type of Purple miniset where all of them would perform.

No, I´m not from Poland.... and I have never been in contact with Simon Robinson.
I´m just sharing my point of views - in terms of opinions there is nothing like "lie" - opinion cannot be lie. Lie is contrast against FACT. Question about how much important each of DP members was for the band is not factual issue, it´s matter of taste (because it depends on whether instrumentalists are more important for you /and I understand that especially in case of guitarists, keyboardists etc./ or whether the voice is main for you, or whether it´s 50/50).... Me personally - I´m just unable to listen even stunning groups when singer is unbearable for my ears - which is (for example) case of Dream Theater, and that´s why I consider MkV lineup as weakest, I cant stand JLT´s vocals and in that case it´s absolutely irrelevant for me how Jon / Ritchie / IP / Roger played... So - please calm down - we will always have different point of views, but AFAIK - I have never attacked anyone personally - even during the strongest arguments.... why? Because I respect different opinions - there is nothing like "the only truth".

The singer is the more important to you than the instrumental players, it doesn't matter how Ritchie and others played as long as the singer is good, but you prefer Steve Morse guitar sound because you like it better than others??? You dont like Uli Jon Roth sound, because Steve is better, right? So the guitar sound really matters to you?
If Steve Morse is replaced by lets say Steve Vai, but the singer is still Ian Gillan would that matter to you???

UJR is extreme example - it´s the guy who I simply cant stand - and actually probably THE ONLY guitar player I have ever heard who creates such a disgust in me... I dont remember any other guy who would cause me goosebump caused by disgusting (something like fingers scratching the blackboard)... In case of singers - I´m much more sensitive! So saying otherwise - you can have "great band" with average musicians but you cant have great band with generic singer - Black Sabbath are prime example for this....
On other way - Steve Morse is the man who was the reason why I became fan of this band when I "discovered" them.... You always tend to make some sort of contest from musician A vs. B..... it´s not like that! Theoretically I would have no issue with Vai in Purple, because SV is probably the best guitar player I have ever seen (really live), but it´s about how would he fit into the band (musically and personally)... As fan I´m very satisfied with Steve and band is obviously too. When you say "Deep Purple guitarist" - Steve Morse is that one which comes to my mind as first.... and then I think "ah, you may think Ritchie... but he doesnt play with the band for xx years".

Remember that well David but Gillan also said he wasn't interested either, but look at the lengths he's went to to get there without Blackers.People change their minds, and Ritchie may well have wanted to go and play even if to promote the new Rainbow, but Gillans pettiness has denied him that chance.

Maybe Gillan will change his mind in 4 years and regret not playing with Ritchie. Let's wait and see what they say in 2020

pont is they may not all be still with us by 2020 this was probably the last chance to do something and celebrate the bands legacy properly.Now its a bloody sham with the 2 subs playing Blackers songs and DC and Glenn also denied the chance to perform when they clearly want to.

Well, all this seems rather stupid... if there is so much reluctance from the band, if there's so much fighting, why should RRHOF bother? I wish they hadn't inducted Purple. There wouldn't be all that fuss. Some stupid award, that doesn't mean anything, really - it's the audience that counts - is a reason of so much bad blood between people from the Purple camp. THANK YOU ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME FOR MAKING PURPLE'S FANS' LIVES BITTER, and F$%K OFF!

the blame lies with Gillan not the HOF they've only offered the band an award.
