I remember also reading about the one they are talking in the HEC and DPO thread.

The any three of Blackmore, Coverdale, Gillan, Glover, Hughes, Lord and Paice can be DP.

Blackmore, Coverdale and Hughes can also be DP for one night ???

What do you think ptr???

I actually think that it´s much more complicated.
3 of members - but that´s situation from 1980 and it was about decision about "which members" and how many of them are enough to form legal shape of NEW Deep Purple (because at that time the band wasnt active!). It´s quite possible that since 1980, the list of members increased (I dont know, I´m just suggesting that it´s possible!) and also now you have active band with name of Deep Purple. Especially this fact exclude the possibility of "creating" 2nd band under the same name - it´s legally impossible, no matter which lineup would you use! Blackmore, Coverdale, Hughes simply can not create legal new band with name Deep Purple, because there is other one - which has obvious historical connection to the original one.

Whats the historical connection?Bobby Woodman was the original drummer so the current lineup has NO original members.A lineup with Blackers ,Coverdale and Hughes would have ONE original member in Ritchie, so they win emoticon

Afaik Bobby Woodman never had a contract with the DP management. He didn't do any recordings or shows with the band.

Of course. That's what the sentence says.

Well as interesting as this exchange is? I'm finished with it emoticon

That's why I am replying rarely to your posts. Most of the times I'm finished with them. Because there's no use in arguing with you. You just turn around the words and go on praising Ritchie. That's fine. For you.
But arguing with you really doesn't make a lot of sense. Cause your not able to get the point of what other people say. And that's fine. For you. So I think we agree: This thread is finished. For the two of us. And believe me: I stay to what I say.

Hmm? maybe I'm not finished with this exchange at all?it seems to be you who is missing the point .Does "playing like sh!t during the 80s" sound like praise to you????? Its a comment i have made about Ritchie Blackmore many many many times.I get you and ptrs point very well I simply don't agree with it !! ptr has already admitted on this very thread that he is indeed coming from a biased point of view !! Will you admit the same? You both defend the current lineup and Steve Morse against all logical, obvious merited criticism to such a degree that one wonders if you are both on Bruce Paynes payroll to promote the current lineup on this forum??

I knew, you couldn't resist and won't stay to your promise. I do. It's finished. emoticon

I have mixed to negative views on this whole business.

On the one hand, it's kind of nice for my favourite band to be recognised for their achievements and contribution to rock but quite frankly, it's way too late.

Using Wikipedia as a source, I see that artistes are inducted 25 years after their first recordings. So quite frankly, why the hell wasn't Purple inducted in the 90's - to use the American vernacular - "it was a lay up!"....

And if I was on the HOF committee, I would have selected Mk 1 to Mk 4 or classic Mk2 if they really wanted to narrow it down.

But here we are in 2016 and it is totally irrelevant because JL is no longer with us. I don't think any of Purple should turn up as the whole business is an insult. I love the fact that The Sex Pistols who were inducted in 2006, refused to attend the ceremony, calling the museum a p_ss stain.....

Now let's not get our knickers in a twist over this bs and move on to more important stuff like "Blackmore v Morse?" and " will the new album be a disappointment?" and "what's your fantasy set list?"

BTW, listening to a Purple playlist and The Truth Hurts is currently playing - don't know what that means but thank God that The Squealy One wasn't part of this thing!.....

You re completely right

BTW I have to disagree with that attitude presented here. Maybe that fans requesting "impossible" (like "all family reunion") should reconsider their opinion, because we know nothing about their past feuds, issues, arguments etc. The question is whether the fans themseves are not selfish by asking band to act according the fan´s wish... Please accept one thing - NOONE from the band owe us anything, we have NO right to have requests how they should act, because we know nothing about the background - some of us just THINK that we know it. Instead of gratitude that their music/shows made us happy for decades some of us have some sort of feeling that we have right to demand something from them - we dont have any! Argument that we made them rich is irrelevant here because it was our own decision to "give" them money for their music and performances - and we gave them these money because of this reasons - there are no other parts of "contract" between us as "customers" (fans) and them as band.

Who the !@#$ are you?

Again, your words are of no concern to me.
