Durham Concerto in Hagen, Germany
I got this from Kathryn Tickell's mailing list:
quote: A Tribute to Jon Lord: Durham Concerto, 19 May, Hagen
Kathryn is honoured to be invited to play with the Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra for this German premiere of Jon Lord's beautiful Durham Concerto, conducted by Paul Mann. The acclaimed concerto illustrates an imaginary day in the atmospheric city of Durham.
But it's been on Jon Lord's site for ages, that will teach me to look more often

Sadly, I'll never get to hear any of his pieces here in the States unless its when I put a cd in

You're right RatBatBlu. I have yet to see any Jon Lord CD's for sale in any CD departments or read anything about him in any American Publication. His death went unnoticed in the news media.

It's fantastic the music lives on. Let's hope JL's classical works will become a stellar part of the repertoire of many orchestra's.
