DC says he would sing with Ian Gillan
Shocking. See for yourself. I am still waiting for him to sing with Glenn Hughes again, but getting all three of them together would be incredible.

Re: DC says he would sing with Ian Gillan
Doesn't shock me to be honest. Never got the feeling that David had any problem with Gillan.
Would never happen though. IG doesn't like to acknowledge Purple's existence without him so it would never happen. It's an interesting scenario to think about though.

Re: DC says he would sing with Ian Gillan
David said for years that he had no relationship with Gillan. Apparently, Gillan was touring with Purple at some point in the early 70s and Coverdale also happened to be singing where Purple was that night.
DC said that Gillan said something nasty to him [DC] after he sang, something along lines of, "You sang well, but the monitor killed you." Coverdale didn't like Gillan very much after that. So that is why I'm shocked that DC has changed direction after all this time.

Well, he offered an olive branch to Plant too after Jon passed. It seems he finds life is way to short for grudges and just wants bygones to be bygones.

I believe that was the famous gig where Jon Lord took DC's number. Circa 1969 I believe.

Re: DC says he would sing with Ian Gillan
I ve read about this option decades ago.
Early 80's maybe.
Gillan was supposed to do Elvis songs and DC was supposed to do Chuck Berry?
Forget it.
