Re: Did Mark 4 really perform "Marching Powder" on stage?
In the Darker Than Blue Magazine, Simon talks about having to get everything approved for release in writing by people who represent DP's old management and also the folks who own the actual tapes. I guess a lot of times it doesn't work out.

"....should be released just for documentation reasons...."
I agree. It's also very sad that the "Clearwell Castle Rehearsal Tape 1973" didn't appear on the Burn Anniversary issue, because of the poor sound.

Afaik only "Wild Dogs" and "Homeward Strut" have been performed Live by dP, and of course "The Grind" on the Long Beach concert cd which is actually "Homeward".

In case it really exists
It doesn't, the song played was Drifter (which still would have been really nice to hear in a professional recording, incomplete or not - I don't count TTA since Bolin was incapacitated and could hardly play during the Japanese tour).

Re: Did Mark 4 really perform "Marching Powder" on stage?
There's a few bootlegs available via Youtube such as the Spectrum Philidelphia and Melbourne with Drifter which are worth a listen. Over 40 years old and yet CTTB still sounds sensational to me.

Yes, Drifter was good live in all the versions I've heard of it, even the Japanese gigs when Tommy could hardly play they still manage to pull off good versions of it. The version from Radio City Music Hall is also very good, as are the versions from all the available NZ/Australia gigs.

Fully agree 100%!

A small bit of Marching Powder was teased during Homeward Strut from the Miami gig. That was about as much as was played during that tour.
