Re: The Purple Album.....
Its a bloody shame that this didn't happen I think it would have been superb.I have no doubt that Blackmore would have been brilliant at Whitesnakes material.I mean tracks like SOTN,HIGA,WITSOTB and R&W are tailor made for Blackmore to shine. He could have brought something new and fresh to them all.

Re: The Purple Album.....
I know Page did...its just in that second when I posted that, my brain went to the more contemporary Whitesnake material and not the classic...I can picture Ritchie on the classic stuff, especially WitSotB, ANLItHOtC...

Re: The Purple Album.....
I liked Page's version of Here I Go Again. I didn't like Page's version of Slide it In or Still of the Night. Did C/P play any other Snake tunes?

hmm....not sure about that. I can't see it working at this point. RB probably lost a bit of his rock mojo I would have thought? SOTN.....needs to be really heavy.....can't see it.

Heavy? Not really. Check out the original. Blackmore always was the best blues guitarist of the DP family.

Had a look at both Fireworks and Powerplay mags in the newsagent this morning. As well as having DC on the cover, they both give the album a fair, balanced and generally positive review.
