Re: The Purple Album.....
Nice to read an interview where DC is quite open for a change, about the reasons for doing the Purple Album, the downtuning and singing keyboard players:

Re: The Purple Album.....
Shouldn't you be praising him for making such nice comments on Doug Aldrich?

I'd say praise him for the comments on his voice, the stamina etc. Its nice to hear; almost feels you are getting to listen to DC and not CEO DC!
On the Doug stuff, I won't go over old ground. But its sadder he says this a year later, and in the 'break-up' acted as he did. Wait long enough and he will say anything about anything. Generally speaking actions speak louder than words. Although I'm taking it from your leading question, you clearly think differently?!

Not really differently at all. It's a shame people who worked together for so long fell out. I would hazard a guess that using so (too?) much space, in an interview which is supposed to be about promoting a new album, to give such credit is far more important than some 5 minute sniping between these fellows at David Coverdale's Twitter.
It was just a couple of weeks back when some people - not you - were crying and complaining how Coverdale has not been in contact with Aldrich. Now that he puiblically praises their relationship and albums they did, not a single word of gratitude or appreciation. Amazing.

Re: The Purple Album.....
Thanks, J. The link has it very misleading as he only says this might be the last arena rock tour.

Re: The Purple Album.....
Had a look at both Fireworks and Powerplay mags in the newsagent this morning. As well as having DC on the cover, they both give the album a fair, balanced and generally positive review. So far it's only Classic Rock who seem to think the album is an abomination. Strange that. Perhaps it's not punk enough for them.....

Re: The Purple Album.....
In Fireworks interview DC expands quite a bit on the Blackmore discussions, saying it was the brevity of the planned touring that made him pull out. mentions they were set to do DP/Rainbow and WS material as well as presumably new stuff.
