Even modern studio tricks simply can not hide that David´s voice is completely gone.... It´s a bit sad to become his own tribute act. Very poor cover.  Coverdale digged brand new all-time low in whole "Deep Purple family" projects.

Wow, that's pretty damming. Not sure i agree about the vocal critique and the rest is pretty subjective. Each to their own I guess.

Don't know what to think of it.
On one side I think it's great to hear those 'old'songs in a modern setting.
And showing the world what a great songs DP wrote.
On the other hand I don't understand that DC goes on tour as a DP coverband.
What I don't understand either, why DA had to leave? There are no new songs written and recorded so why did he have to commit himself completely to WS?

The upside is, hopefully it will get kids who aren't aware of DC's past to go back and discover that music. If it helps boost sales of DP's catalog, I don't see the harm.

Many current fans won't know those tunes. They don't even recognise the older Whitesnake tunes live. I think DC must be gambling on that fact to a degree. I think it's an interesting move...can't get over the amount of dismay on other forums at the moment though, or the stuff about his voice on this first track.
