Snakecharmer/Glory Road - Leamington spa 20th July
A very enjoyable night in a fantastic albeit half full venue. I've been impressed with GR previously but their new (Gillan esque circa 1970!) singer bumps the whole thing up a few notches. Starting with the Unchain your brain each track in the short set hit home powerfully.
The guys were clearly enjoying it despite the initlally muted audience response and I'd recommend this current version of Mick's band to all. Black sheep of the family was the only surprise inclusion as far as I can recall. Only gripe no encore!
Setlist from memory
Unchain your brain
Sleeping on the job
No laughing in heaven
No easy way
On the rocks
Black sheep of the family
Vengeance
Mr Universe
So to Snakecharmer, very impressive and professional. I didn't find their own material too noteworthy on first hearing but tbe snake classics were all delivered faithfully. No widdling, original harmonies etc precise. Coinisseurs Whitesnake!

I saw Snakecharmer in 2014 at Hard Rock Hell. I was a bit disappointed. Lacked something, though hard to pinpoint what. Fire perhaps. Functional but not exciting.

I saw them last year and had similar thoughts.
