Re: Hard Road-Mk I 5cd Box
Thanks for posting, RBB.
I would have been stunned if they had found something new...

Yeah, I'm skipping it. Not enough there to entice me.

Re: Hard Road-Mk I 5cd Box
I decided to get this as I really like MKI. The book has a good interview with Nick and also the producer of these first 3 albums, Derek Lawrence. Nick says he was told they would be auditioning Gillan at a afternoon session without Nick being there and he would be told that night how it went. Unfortunately Ian brought Roger along and the rest is history. I have only listened to Shades (Stereo) CD in the car but have to say I forgot how good Paice was pounding the drums on this album!! Not much difference from the earlier remasters. I am glad I bought it, especially for the booklet as not has been written about MKI compared to other line-ups.

Re: Hard Road-Mk I 5cd Box
The Third album has 3 versions of "The Bird Has Flown", the album cut, the US Single, and one labeled as an early take. It sounds almost like the US Single. It also has a backing track for "Why Didn't Rosemary" that wasn't used on the album. Just all four instruments that sound very sharp. Nick's bass thumps along nicely. Love it!!! The stereo version of Emmeretta is different than the mono version that was released as a single. The drums at the end go on much longer, kind of like a mini solo.
