Re: Into the Fire cover
Very cool! I like how you did it at a slower tempo! I also wondered how you were going to do the screams You did it!

Re: Into the Fire cover
Like RBB wrote, a laid back take. Nice screams indeed!
I wasn't so sure about the chorus effect but it does work.

I didnt use any chorus to tell the truth....if you meant the vocals, is double tracking. What did you think of the tone of the guitar solo? i´m reccording HS and i dont know if i should use the same sound.....thanks for listening!

Re: Into the Fire cover
I would use a different tone. Ritchie's tone on MH sounded way more compressed than any other DP album back in those days. I'm assuming because of the way it was recorded, whereas his tone on IR was 'rattier' and more in your face. Not saying you have to go for his tone or try to mimic it, but I would go for a different one (I do like your tone on ITF).

Nice one, KF!!!

Re: Into the Fire cover
Well, for what it's worth KF, I like this. It's gritty- which is just like In Rock sounded. And although you don't copy Ritchie's solo, it's clear what you are playing is in Ritchie's style and it fits nicely.
I record a lot of stuff at home on a cheap portable 8 track machine. The biggest downer is that you have to use programmed drum sounds. I have often thought of doing Purple tracks but I don't play keyboards and I think it's pretty difficult to do most of the material justice without Something replicating Jons organ. I did however have a go at Never Before
