I will also add, to me Reb is completely wrong for WS...great player, nice guy but not heard anything worthwhile from him in WS. even Vai was a better fit....
I actually think the current lineup is wrong for Whitesnake, with the exception of Michael Devin, but what do I know. I just buy the music and watch the shows?
I hope its an album of new material with an album of re-recorded material as a bonus and a tour that celebrates David's career (from DP onwards) with some special guests at some shows.
Whatever it is, the length of time it has taken to make an announcement (ie "we are in the studio recording an album of new songs...something that has not been said as such) is mystifying unless there are some "nice" complications as part of the announcement and ducks have to be got in a row etc etc.

Re: Doug Aldrich leaves Whitesnake
“I did start work on David's next project and it was going great. We know each other so well. But he wanted me to move up to Reno full-time and I just needed a little more flexibility. I have a 5-year-old son, that was a big factor. I didn't plan on it. I just thought I had to step away. Bottom line, it was family. And I'm loving life, man.”

Re: Doug Aldrich leaves Whitesnake
It's apparent he quit for all the right reasons. His kid is young only once.

My issue with this is this... Have Reb or Joel moved up to Reno full time? Don't think so.

It seems like that reason is kind of ... flimsy unless DC has a different standard for his main collaborator. Which could be the case, but picking up stakes and moving is incredibly difficult.

Sitting here listening to the GTBB album. What a great one it is. He shouldn't have let go of Doug, I think.

Oh Jesus -horrible - Reno full time? Love going there every Sept for the air races and there is some spectacular scenery but it wouldn't want to live there. I also turned down a band gig there.

Doug quit. No point holding on to someone who doesn't share the vision.

Its a cowboy town which is fine if that's what you're into but I couldn't imagine living there. I took a day trip once from Vegas because I'd never been there. We didn't stay very long lol
